None of us want to fail, but why is it that so many small businesses do? And how can you avoid this common mistake and ensure you will not be a victim? Well, being aware is an awesome start so thank you for taking the time to read with me this morning and I am proud of you for taking steps to move forward instead of sleep walking through your decisions and falling behind.
So - the biggest mistake you can make as a Business owner? Loosing Focus. If you want to be successful, you must make it your #1 goal to STAY FOCUSED. Write your goals out over and over every day if you have to. Do not kill your momentum towards success by slacking off, getting lazy, getting distracted or taking a vacation. Do not slack on the habits and routines you need to uphold to reach success.
Goals do not just get achieved by making the occasional effort towards them - you must make a consistent effort and choice. You must commit that DAY IN and DAY OUT you will stand by your goals, dreams and values and do everything in your power to make it happen.
Things to avoid:
1. Getting comfortable: If you want your business to keep growing than you need to keep taking risks, keep pushing yourself and keep being UNCOMFORTABLE!
2. Going on Vacation: Do not skip out on vacation the moment you start to see progress, this kills your momentum and halts your growth. Its like pouring a big bucket of water over a fire and expecting it to still be burning when you return.
3. Forgetting Your Goals: Remind yourself DAILY.
4. Slacking on Your Habits & Routines: If you have built a positive routine and positive habits do no slack on them. It is not just one day that you are missing & its incredibly hard to get back into the swing of things again.
Here is the thing, were all human and I know it seems so easy to just "take a day off" when we start to feel tired but taking this day kills your momentum and kills your growth. Consistency is KEY and a great way to ensure you are still being consistent but making time for rest is to dial back what you are doing on days where you feel like you just want to quit - instead of taking the day off just write a shorter blog post, or post something easy on social media etc. Still do the same ACTIONS just dial back how much effort they take (Yesterday I was feeling exhausted but instead of just not writing my blog, I chose to write a very short post and attach a valuable video instead).
You've got this and I'm proud of you. Remember - CONSISTENCY creates results.
Lots of Love,
