Herb-Infused Butter Candle for Bread Dipping

Ingredients:

- 1 stick (1/2 cup) of unsalted butter

- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced

- 1 teaspoon fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or parsley), finely chopped

- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (smoked or sweet, depending on your preference)

- Bread (for dipping)

Equipment:

- Heat-resistant container (such as a small glass or metal bowl)

- Candle wick or cotton string

- Wick holder (a small stick or pencil will work)

- Heat source (tealight candle or small candle warmer)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Container and Wick:

- Select a heat-resistant container that's deep enough to hold the melted butter and wide enough to comfortably dip bread into.

- Cut a length of candle wick or cotton string that's slightly taller than your container.

- Secure one end of the wick to the bottom of the container using a small dab of softened butter. Ensure the wick stands upright in the center of the container.

2. Infuse the Butter:

- In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

- Add the minced garlic, chopped fresh herbs, and paprika to the melted butter. Stir well to combine.

- Let the butter and herb mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes on low heat to infuse the flavors. Be careful not to burn the garlic; you want it to become fragrant and slightly golden.

3. Pour the Flavoured Butter:

- Carefully pour the flavored butter into the prepared container with the centered wick. Leave a small gap at the top to avoid overflow.

4. Let it Solidify:

- Allow the flavored butter candle to cool and solidify at room temperature. Alternatively, you can speed up the process by refrigerating it.

5. Trim the Wick:

- Once the butter has solidified, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch above the surface of the flavored butter.

6. Dip and Enjoy:

- Light the flavored butter candle using a tealight candle or a small candle warmer.

- As the butter begins to melt, the garlic and herb aroma will fill the air. Dip your favorite bread pieces into the melted, flavourful butter, and savour the deliciousness!

This herb-infused butter candle is a delightful and aromatic treat for dipping bread, perfect for special occasions or when you want to impress your guests with a unique and flavorful appetizer.

Warning:

Please exercise caution when using the herb-infused butter candle for bread dipping:

1. Open Flames: The candle flame can be hot and potentially dangerous. Always keep a close eye on the lit candle, and ensure it's placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.

2. Hot Butter: The melted butter inside the candle can become very hot. Avoid touching the container directly, as it may cause burns. Use the provided bread or a utensil to dip.

3. Wick Safety: Be aware of the candle wick's location when dipping bread. Ensure it does not come into contact with your bread, as it can become very hot and cause burns.

4. Supervision: Never leave the lit candle unattended, especially if children or pets are present.

5. Allergies: If you or your guests have allergies to any of the ingredients used, please be mindful of potential allergens.

6. Fire Safety: Have a fire extinguisher, baking soda, or a lid to smother the flame nearby in case of an emergency. Never use water to extinguish a grease fire.

7. Enjoy Responsibly: While this butter candle is a fun and flavorful way to enjoy bread, use it responsibly and ensure the safety of everyone involved.

By following these precautions, you can safely enjoy the unique and delicious experience of using an herb-infused butter candle for bread dipping.
