Sometimes it can feel like you are drowning, I know - I have been there time and time again. I have learned only too well about how neglecting your mental health can and will slowly destroy your life and your relationships. With burn out, overworking and stress being the pinnacles of your life you can pretty much guarantee negative consequences. Making the right steps and setting up positive habits to take care of your mental health is like fueling up before a race. Your car wont run without fuel - why is it that you think your body can?
That being said - Let's do something about it. And we start today.
Four Ways you can easily boost your mental health and reinvigorate your relationships, work productivity and any other goal you might have.
1. Practicing Gratitude.
Yes, yes - I know you are thankful for the people that you love and the amazing opportunities you have had in your life, but when is the last time you made a point to take time and give that your undivided attention? Try this for me, today I want you to sit down with piece of paper and make a short bullet point list of the people you have to be grateful for. Spend two minutes writing down these names and when you are done, take this list and post it up on the wall or the fridge where you can look back on it any time you need to bee inspired and grateful. Practicing gratitude can boost your positive outlook on life and remind you of the good things that lay ahead for you today.

2. Get a Full Nights Sleep.
Seems simple enough right? Well than why aren't you doing it? Getting a full nights rest is the fuel you need and the time your body need to repair. And I know what you are thinking - Karleigh, I don't have TIME to sleep for 8 hours because the dog wakes me up or my kid wakes me up but those are just excuses. Sure, you may not get your full nights sleep every night because of outside interruptions - But that does not mean you shouldn't try to get eight hours most of the time.

3. Stay Hydrated.
This is the one that usually gets me, staying hydrated can be hard when you do not have a health habit of drinking water. What I did to help stay hydrated was buying a nice new cup that I could carry around with m everywhere - Mine in particular is covered in self care mantras but truly any cup will do! Fill it with water and make sure you water yourself at least as much as you water your plants ;)

4. Try A Relaxing Activity. Some good examples could be Meditation, Walks, Baths, Yoga and even something as simple as sitting on the porch (With no screen time!) To reset your body and your mind. Did you know that we do our most creative thinking and problem solving while we are relaxing? So - Looking for a solution to a problem, take a bath!

There are many ways we can help our bodies to preform at their peak potential, and giving our bodies the fuel they need to get started is #1! Get started today and write your gratitude list, have an extra glass of water and go to bed on time, I KNOW you can do that - And it might be just what you have been missing.
A good day starts with a good rest!
