Knowing this information and asking these simple questions before you purchase a product could save you, your pets and your children. When most people look at a label on cosmetics, aromatherapy products, soaps and much more, they get overwhelmed because of the gigantic names of chemical after chemical used to make them. This being said, I want to make it easy for you to identify what products are safe to purchase and what ones you should just avoid.

The two major questions I always ask are:
Is this Phthalate free? Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to make plastics more durable. They are often called plasticizers. Some phthalates are used to help dissolve other materials. Phthalates are in hundreds of products, such as vinyl flooring, lubricating oils, and personal-care products (soaps, shampoos, hair sprays). These chemicals can damage the liver, kidneys, lungs, and reproductive system for both humans and animals.
Is this Paraben free? Parabens are chemicals that are commonly used as preservatives in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. The concern with these chemicals is that scientific studies suggest that parabens can disrupt hormones in the body and harm fertility and reproductive organs, affect birth outcomes, and increase the risk of cancer. They can also cause skin irritation.

Most products that are both paraben and phthalate free will advertise this to their customers but in some cases you may have to physically ask the business owner, store worker or product representative. There are SO many healthy choices in our world today, and now that you have the knowledge to ask the right questions, please don't subject yourself or your loved ones to products that are going to cause horrible damage. I know you love them, thats why you are here reading this - so enough is enough. We are no longer assuming products are okay just because they are being sold, its time to take the responsibility into our own hands.
Lots of Love,
